Hey Doggies supporters, we need your help. Over the summer we will be compiling a whole bunch of songs to play at the next seasons home games, for during the warm-up, in between whistles and in between periods. Who knows maybe even try an entrance song next year. Basically we figure you have to listen to them while the games are going on, so we wanna know a few of your suggestions keeping in mind the below:
1) Needs a very solid intro. These songs need to pump up the team and crowd so we can really give it to the visiting teams
2) Can’t contain swear words. Got to keep the kids in mind here
So when ever a song or songs come to mind please comment below, so hopefully when 2010 comes around we have a massive selection.
So don’t be shy, you can comment as anonymous. It is your song ideas we are after.

Rise – Disturbed
Umbabarauma – SoulFly
Hey Driver – Motor Ace
It’s Electric – Metallica

The Final Countdown – Europe
Play the chorus just before the final period or during the dying stages of the game.
Just play the main riff at any time, it will get me psyched!

we are the champions is the only song the dogs need for 2010

Great suggestions
I would like to hear, who let the dogs out at any stage.Right at the beginning before puck off particularly.
Dansons’ suggestion is great and should always be played at the beginning of the periods and always at the end of each game.

maybe also that riff from the beach boys, wipeout
surviours “eye of the tiger” for when the gloves drop
rose tattoo’s “we cant be beaten” after a win perhaps
“u and ur hand” by pink when an opposing player is sent to the box, hell that would just about fire me up enough not to concentrate

Best one Ive heard was when I was in Munich watching EHC Munchen in the 2nd division – Nelly the Elephant!!! Great fun!!! Everytime EHC scored – the crowd goes “Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Nelly the Elephant packed her trunk and ran away from the circus!” I dont know what was better, the fact that 3000 people were yelling it all together or that none of the germans actually knew what they were singing!

Just thought I’d ping in well and truly after the hype, but I think a great song to play as the Dogs take to the ice (either for warm up or opening face off) would be “Here comes the BOOM” – Nelly. I also can’t believe no one has suggested “The Good Old Hockey Game” – Stompin Tom Connors, not a blood pumper in the least, but I reckon a nice tribute to the game for between periods

Hey Pingu,
Thanks for the requests and keep em coming. We are going to re-issue this article to the front page closer to the season when more people are hitting the site again and get some more requests. Good old hockey game takes me back haha

March 5th, 2010 at 7:14 am
Hey all, I’m from Canada and I think one of the best pump up songs I’ve heard my whole career is “AC DC – Thunderstruck”… The guitar intro is sweet and gets the blood flowing before hitting the ice and when the vocals come in it’s time to get game ready..
P.S. I’ve been looking into the league if someone has any advice on how I can attempt playing in it please don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail.
Cheers

how about Strength by The Alarm? They’re a welsh rock band from the 80′s but believe me they can nail a tune. I’ll even send it to ya if need be.

the song I play to my atoms now is FooFighters – “The pretender”. This song was made for hockey, listen to the words, a great fit for the fantastic videos you guys are showing !!! love it.

Hey mirnada
Yea i agree, great choice… ill definatly try use it in one of the highlights vids but the way i pick my songs is matching the video length to the length of a song that will go with it… cross your fingers i get a match soon

Aussie rock band called AIRBOURNE.
Stand Up for Rock and Roll was on NHL08.
Runnin’ Wild is a killer psyche up song and Armed and Dangerous gets the blood rushing. Their 1st album Runnin’ Wild has a few dynamite songs to get the boys pumped.
Lets Go Dogs, 5 home games in a row, looking forward to it.

I reckon for away games AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” will raise a pulse or two, each time we score a goal!
