Battle of Sydney

The Battle of Sydney really gets into action this Saturday night July 17th at the LCC Sports Complex as the first of three encounters in a row.  The BANQ Sydney Ice Dogs will be looking to extend their recent success and carry it over to Penrith for the following two games.

The Bears have come off two losses in the Gold Coast and will be looking to get back to their top of the ladder form this season.  “We are just looking to steal points and upset some teams at this stage of the season” says Captain Anthony Wilson.  “The last two games have shown some positives for the future and we want to build on that”.

Billy Cliff got his chance alongside Derek Campbell and Matt Monaghan and didn’t look out of place and contributed a goal in last games comeback.  “He has gone from playing well on the ice to making an impact, it is great to see him stepping up” adds coach Mark Stephenson.

Import Defenceman Chad Elliott is finding his form mid season and has been solid on the blueline for the past five games.  With the new attitude of the Ice Dogs and a determined Bears outfit make sure you get to the LCC Sports Complex this Saturday night July 17.

After the game the Ice Dogs will be having their team photo and want their supporters to be in the background of the photo so don’t miss out and bring your Ice Dogs Jerseys as well.  The GAME will be proudly brought to you by BANQ Accountants.

We do JOHNNO22 i agree with u 100% us the dog pound people need to sit down one night back at the club, along with many drinks and put our heads 2gether and come up with something brilliant that no other supporters or teams have seen something that would blow their minds off oh im so pumped!!!
SUNDAY here we come with full force

  7. Car5on Says:

    Hey JOHNNO22 & minxta,

Glad you guys liked the banner. I’m a sign writer and my good mate Rob, who also comes to the games, owns the business, so it was pretty easy to make. I was talking to Dan and i think he’s keen to get something like that done. I’m going to have a muck around tomorrow with some designs. Our work email is signman@tpg.com.au if you want to drop us a line. If your after something like that I’d be only to pleased to help you guys out with banners, stickers, signs etc..

Anyway. What a game. It’s awesome to have a big crowd hey! The place was packed. It’s like the players and everyone else feeds off the noise! Where all trying to get over to Penrith so hopefully the place will be packed with crazy Dogs fans screaming home another win! Love it!!!

  8. minxta Says:

    hey Car5on

The game was awesome mind thrilling and full of action. All the boys did us proud like always.
sounds good to get a few banners going we shall see what we can come up with See ya Sunday with full force !!!

  9. Gozza Says:

We would love to see the Dogpound boys and girls in full force at the Bears Den supporting the Boys. Let’s all try to sit together with, horns jerseys, t’shirts and whatever else we can throw at them on Sunday night. (kitchen sink is an option)..Bring It!!! Hey guys, What we could discuss is getting some flags (mid size) so that we can create a further specticle. We need more noise makers too. There are no more of those cheapo blowers I have but I’m trying to see if I can track down some sort of Drum…(flags are Good)

  10. Gozza Says:

Oh and Carson, don’t take offence to Minxta not seeing the banner although you couldn’t miss it (great Job). She’s as blind as a bat unless it’s 2 feet away. Bahahaha..Just kidding sis. What a coincidence that I just got my new Dogpound T’shirt with “Doggie Style” on the back, I thought that was awsome when I saw the banner. When you put it up, I was down with the boys in the change rooms and they came out to have a look and loved it. I think this sort of growing support has massivley lifted the team and they really appreciate it. Well done again.

  11. Andrew Burgess Says:

  14. nb5 Says:

has anybody been to the penrith rink before. Is it as small as LCC ?
would be good to pack it out with dog supporters, leave no room for bear supporters.

  15. Gozza Says:

Can we get to the back of the Goals is the question????? :)

  16. minxta Says:

i have been to that rink b4 the seating is upstairs plenty of seating for us ICE DOGS FANS will make sure of that
Key is to get there a bit early and try to group all 2gether

Gozza as far i can recall pretty sure u can walk around behind the nets dont think its barricaded

  17. car5on Says:

We’ll be there at least an hour before hand to sus it out.

  18. nb5 Says:

thanx minxta. will be there early.

  19. minxta Says:

    nb5
no problems anytime see u’s all there ready to kick on

  20. JOHNNO22 Says:

hey guys ive been to the bears den, plenty of upstairs seating but have never seen ppl down the rink level, not sure if they allow it? they have a few hardcore supporters but not like us,so in saying that lets leave an impression on them eh (all being a good one)
car50n i think stickers would be a big seller if you know what i mean,i have thought about it,thats for sure.
goz, will try and get into blacktown and have a look for those little horns, heap of discount shops in there

  21. Car5on Says:

Hey JOHNNO22, just let me know what you want. I’ve been waiting to hear from Dan. I wanted to redo his “Dog Pound” banner. I was thinking maybe the “Ice Dogs” logo bursting out of some burgundy flames with “DOG POUND FURY” across the top.. Something like that… If you guys want some one off banners or signs to use for the game, I’d be happy to do them for near cost. How quickly they get done all depends on how busy we are. Sundays game is a little bit too soon, but next weeks should be fine. Let me know guys. signman@tpg.com.au
