Blogging Hockey

If you’re always watching hockey and you can think of nothing better than kicking back with a laptop and writing about the game you just saw, then blogging might be for you. It’s a simple concept – and you can contribute to our community which you post articles to, called “blog” posts – essentially your own way of publishing content to the web. Please let us know if you want to get involved.

A great way to get started with your own series of articles, not only will you grow as ice dogs fan, but you’ll also grow as a writer – not just from comments and feedback but by practising your writing techniques on a regular basis. You’ll also start generating views and a community around your articles once they are approved if you work hard enough, and whether you’ve blogged before about ice hockey or sports in general, or have your own blog about fishing or Partypoker, it’s not difficult to connect with your readership.

However, you will need to stay on top of things, as it’s too easy to fall behind and feel as though you’re not watching enough games. It’s all about covering things in a tactical way – watching key games and feeding yourself the statistics of others, so you’re up to date without having to sacrifice the world outside your blog, which would be damaging to you and difficult to deal with if you’ve got a full time job, a family or other commitments.

Most importantly, be regular. Ideally, you want to have posts going up a couple of times a week, but if you can’t, weekly at a bare minimum. People will only share their time with you if you share your time with them by providing them with regular bursts of content. Just keep on writing, thinking, reading and watching, and you can’t go far wrong.
